The international break always gives a good chance to take a look at the youth tables and have a quick stocktake. We have summarised here how our co-operation partners at the Red Bull Academy and our women's teams are getting on.
The first half of the Future League season is over and our U20 girls - who train in Rif and play in Bergheim - are in a good second place in their first season, six points behind league leaders St. Pölten. Dusan Pavlovic's side have won a good eight of their 11 matches so far, with one away and one home match remaining before the winter break.
The U16w team are playing, as previously, in the 1st Sparkasse Liga of U14 boys and finished a decent fifth place in the season running from August to November – definitely something they can be proud of!
Both the U18 and U15 teams started the ÖFB Youth League season as reigning champions. The Red Bull Academy's youth teams have been right in the mix this season too. A glance at the under-18 table is slightly deceptive, as Florens Koch's team are down in sixth, but have two games in hand. They have an impressive +14 goal difference after eight matches played.
The Salzburg U16 side in third (with a goal difference of +23!) have also played one match less than leaders LASK. A win in that would see them take top spot. The U15 side of our co-operation partners are flying - some four points in front despite having a game in hand!
The start of the 2024/25 UEFA Youth League's league phase has been a great success! After four matches played, Daniel Beichler's U19s remain unbeaten, putting them on the brink of the knockout stages with two games remaining! With six goals, one of our Young Bulls is leading the goalscorer's list in Phillip Verhounig!
Our UEFA Youth League squad always tends to have a big overlap with FC Liefering, who have also been in strong form. Their last defeat in #LigaZwa came at the start of October with a 0-1 defeat against Lustenau, and since then Tim Trummer's team have taken three wins and two draws to work their way up to eighth after a difficult start to the season. Things continue after the international break at league leaders Admira Wacker, before the final Liefering match of the year on 30 November against Amstetten in the Red Bull Arena.
