Congo international Yoane Wissa, Brentford’s striker, has turned down an offer from Saudi Arabia. The player prefers to wait for a move to Newcastle United, who are competing in the Champions League this season.
According to L’Équipe, Al-Nassr and Neom have shown strong interest in the 27-year-old striker, directly competing with Newcastle and Tottenham. But Wissa has made it clear that his preference is for the club from the north of England. The Magpies are preparing a £35 million bid, while Brentford are demanding no less than £50 million to let their striker go.Speaking after last Sunday's 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest, manager Keith Andrews said: "I have an excellent relationship with Wissa. I worked closely with him last season to improve his efficiency: 7 of his 19 goals came from set pieces. In my view, he has no reason to leave now."Wissa, who scored 5 goals in 27 matches last season, did not feature in the opening round of the Premier League. His absence has only fueled speculation about his future at Brentford.
