Incoming Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has earmarked a member of his squad at Bayer Leverkusen as a potential signing for Los Blancos this summer.

That’s according to Relevo, citing SER, who point towards Alejandro Grimaldo as the player in question.

Left-back Grimaldo is for his part in the midst of another altogether productive campaign in Germany to date.

Across 47 appearances in all competitions, the Spaniard, who made his way through the youth academy at none other than Barcelona, has racked up four goals and an impressive 13 assists.

And such ongoing excellence, evidently, has not gone at all unappreciated on the part of his manager.

As per a report from Relevo, amid an ongoing search for left-back reinforcements to his Real Madrid squad for next season, Xabi Alonso has informed the Blancos brass to turn attentions towards Grimaldo.

The Spanish tactician is said to be eager to bring his fellow countryman to the Santiago Bernabéu, to fill the left-wing-back role in his XI.
