WWE superstar CM Punk paid a special visit to Celtic Park on Tuesday, taking in the sights of Paradise and speaking about his growing interest in the club and its history.

The wrestling icon, who has followed Celtic since appearing at Clash at the Castle in Glasgow last summer, toured the stadium during his time in the city – and was full of praise for the club, the fans, and the rich history surrounding it.

“It’s beautiful. It’s gorgeous.” he said of the stadium. “Everything’s green – the seats are green, everything’s beautiful.

"I’m excited to get in and see the trophies, the history, and learn more about the legendary players.”

CM Punk was in town for Monday Night RAW at the OVO Hydro, which aired globally on Netflix, as part of the build-up to WrestleMania 41 – and he reflected on how much he’s come to enjoy Glasgow during his years on the road with WWE.

“This means a lot to me.” he said. “We travel all over the world, and people ask what we see – I don’t really see a lot, but I see the people. Glasgow’s always been one of the funner places for me.”

Now preparing for his return to the ring at WrestleMania, CM Punk is hoping to come back to Paradise one day for a matchday experience of his own.

“I want to stay longer," he said. "I want to eat the food, I want to hang out with the locals. Coming to a game would be a dream come true.”
