On Thursday, Ange Postecoglou’s side were held at home in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final with Frankfurt. With the tie still all to play for, Postecoglou is likely to make alterations.

Bayern Munich loanee Mathys Tel and out-of-favour midfielder Yves Bissouma may be handed rare starts. Heung-min Son, Micky Van de Ven and Destiny Udogie are the individuals likely to be rested.

Dejan Kulusevski is close to full recovery from a foot problem but isn’t available this afternoon. According to Postecoglou, Kevin Danso is ‘touch and go’ for the trip to the West Midlands, but isn’t expected to be risked due to the nature of his hamstring injury.

Wolves are searching for their fourth consecutive league win for the first time since they were promoted back into the Premier League in 2018.

Wolves talisman Matheus Cunha is available for selection again after serving a four-match suspension. The Brazilian’s ill-discipline has resulted in him being sent off on two occasions this campaign. Vitor Pereira has no fresh injury concerns to contend with but long-term absentees Yerson Mosquera and Sasa Kalajdzic remain out.

Since February, Wolves have been one of the best-performing clubs in the top-flight.

Recent victories over the teams around them in the table have seen them catapult themselves comfortably clear of relegation.

A 2-1 away triumph at relegated Southampton preceded a narrow home win over West Ham, before they conquered Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

That result all but confirmed their place in the top-flight next season as the gap between them and the relegation zone is now 12 points. Striker Jorgen Strand Larsen is in fine form having netted in each of those wins.

Spurs have work to do on Thursday night if they are to progress into the final four of the Europa League.

The quarter-final tie is in the balance after Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt forced a 1-1 draw in North London.

Hugo Ekitike’s pinpoint strike from range got the hosts off to a nightmare start before Pedro Porro’s inventive flick levelled matters just before the half-hour mark.

Despite having the lion’s share of possession and hitting the woodwork twice in the second period, Tottenham couldn’t conjure up a winner on the night. With that second leg season-defining, today’s game will not be the priority for Ange Postecoglou and his players.

A late equaliser from Jorgen Strand Larsen meant it was a disappointing end to 2024 for Tottenham Hotspur.

Heung-min Son is adored in his native country and thousands of fans travel all over the world to support their national treasure. However, it was a different South Korean who imposed himself on proceedings early on.

Another inch-perfect set-piece delivery in quick succession from Porro was attacked by Radu Dragusin, but the Romanian’s header bounced just wide of the post.

Two minutes before the interval, Spurs were awarded a penalty. Andre clattered into Brennan Johnson and referee Chris Kavanagh didn’t hesitate with his decision.

However, Son’s attempt from 12 yards lacked conviction and Sa guessed the right way to deny the Spurs skipper.

Despite the miss, Ange Postecoglou’s side manageg to notch themselves in front before half-time. A neat interchange between Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski culminated in the latter picking out the Welshman who made no mistake from close range.

The Lilywhites’ pressure regressed after the restart and with six minutes remaining, Wolves scored a leveller. From an acute angle, Stand Larsen lashed an effort into the roof of the net and beyond Fraser Forster.

Vitor Pereira’s side almost snatched all three points in the dying embers. Matt Doherty connected with a corner, but Forster was well-positioned to claw the attempt away from danger and earn his team a point.
