Kicker reports that Wolfsburg defensive midfielder Bartol Franjic is on the move yet again. The former Croatian youth international gets set to receive his fourth consecutive loan out from his Bundesliga parent club. The 25-year-old will head to Venezia FC in Italy’s Serie B following loan stints with Darmstadt, Shakhtar Donetsk, and (most recently) his old academy side Dinamo Zagreb.

Franjic joined the German Wolves on a €7.5m transfer from Zagreb in the January 2022 transfer window. After making just three starts for Wolfsburg that spring, he was loaned out to newly promoted Darmstadt the following year. Franjic turned in a very shaky season for the relegated Lilien that year and hasn’t appeared in the Bundesliga since.

The Wolfsburg administrative team presently trim their squad shortly after the start of the club’s July training camp. Franjic’s teammate Nicolas Cozza is also expected to have another loan out confirmed shortly. Like Cozza, Franjic stands little chance of factoring into new head coach Paul Simonis’ plans. Wolfsburg have even brought in a summer acquisition specifically slated for Franjic’s position.

Franjic’s estimated market value has declined from its peak of €6.5m when he joined the Autostädter to €1.5m in the present. The Zagreb native was able to score one goal and register one assist in 24 appearances across all competitions for his academy side last season.
