Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim discussed the difference between his club and Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the battle of the wounded.
The two clubs will clash heads in North London on Sunday afternoon, with only two points separating them in the table. But while the small gap between the two sides is not unusual, as they have found themselves competing for similar objectives in previous campaigns, their current league positions (13th and 14th) are quite astonishing.
Therefore, this contest represents an opportunity for one of the two clubs to appease their tremendously disappointing supporters by at least beating another member of the traditionally-established ‘Big Six’.
In his pre-match press conference, Amorim discussed the unpleasant situation that both the Red Devils and Spurs are enduring, but insisted he’s facing more pressure than his colleague due to United’s bigger status on the domestic and worldwide stage.
“Of course [I sympathise with Postecoglou], especially because he is a good guy. He’s a very good coach. He wants to play football in the right way, for me that is a good thing,” said the 39-year-old via Sky Sports.
“When we choose this profession there is a lot of good things but then you have to feel that pressure when you don’t win.
“In my opinion, with all due respect, I am at a bigger club with bigger pressure. I understand the connection and he’s a really important coach to follow his principles.”

Moreover, Amorim revealed himself as an admirer of Postecoglou. Nevertheless, he believes his Portuguese heritage renders him more tactically agile, although he has yet to showcase his flexibility since his arrival at United.
“I’m a huge fan of Ange Postecoglou. I’m from a different culture, I’m Portuguese and all the Portuguese coaches can adapt. I adapt. The simple thing is that I use one system at the moment because I believe if you work on that system you can play in different systems at the same time. That is my idea.
“But we are not winning games and I understand the connection between me and Ange, we have the same problems.”
