Newcastle United have been rocked by the latest injury sustained by Callum Wilson.

The Magpies striker missed the start of the season due to a combination of back and hamstring issues.

Wilson battled back to feature in Newcastle’s last four matches from the bench.

However, per the Daily Mail, the 32-year-old has picked another hamstring injury that will likely keep him sidelined for the next two months.

His injury will reportedly not change their January transfer plans, with Alexander Isak still fit and Anthony Gordon also an option.

However, manager Eddie Howe may use the January transfer window to bring in another centre-forward.

Calvert-Lewin’s contract at Goodison Park will run out in June 2025, meaning the next transfer window will be their final chance to cash in on him.

He has been at Everton since 2016, scoring 70 goals in 261 appearances in all competitions.

His standout campaign at the Toffees came in 2020-21 when he bagged 21 goals in 39 games.

However, he has been struggling with fitness issues and a lack of form in recent years.

Calvert-Lewin has scored only two goals in 14 Premier League appearances this season.
