The Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt am Main (VGF) and Eintracht Frankfurt have officially unveiled the redesigned C level of the Willy-Brandt-Platz underground station.
Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG board member Philipp Reschke, VGF managing director Thomas Raasch, Frankfurt am Main’s head of mobility Wolfgang Siefert, Eintracht’s record appearance maker Karl-Heinz ‘Charly’ Körbel, club ambassadors Cha Bum-kun, Alexander Schur, Uwe Bein and Uwe Bindewald, as well as vice president Armin Kraaz and other representatives of the club, welcomed numerous invited guests and presented them with the newly designed underground station on the C level, featuring a complete Eintracht design with elements from over 125 years of club history.
“It’s great that, 12 years after the inauguration of the ‘Pillars of Eintracht’, we are taking the next step together and turning the Willy-Brandt-Platz stop into a real Eintracht stop,” said Eintracht board member Reschke. “All this in a style that embodies and visualises Eintracht Frankfurt. This station is a meeting place and sure to become a cult location for all Eintracht fans. We would like to thank the VGF for making this step possible through a unique collaboration.”
“Our partnership with Eintracht has been official since 2007, and in 2013 the spectacular ‘Pillars of Eintracht’ were unveiled between the tracks on the C level,” commented VGF managing director Raasch. “With the large-scale wall design, we are now completing the transformation into a true Eintracht station. Through our cooperation with Eintracht, we are able to combine the maintenance of the technical and structural facilities with their attractive design. We would like to express our sincere thanks to our partner for this.”
