Newcastle United fought back from a goal down to beat Birmingham City 3-2 on Saturday to reach the FA Cup fifth round.
Birmingham shocked the Magpies by scoring a goal after less than two minutes in the game.
However, Joe Willock got the equaliser in controversial fashion to initiate a comeback for Newcastle.
The 25-year-old’s effort appeared to have been stopped off the line but it was awarded as a goal by the linesman.
Callum Wilson added another for the visitors before Tomoki Iwata levelled the scores after 40 minutes.
But Willock ensured Newcastle’s progress to the next round by grabbing the winner with a lovely finish.
The Dane joined the Tyneside club in the summer for a fee worth up to £15 million.
However, first-team opportunities have been scarce for the 21-year-old, who still has a lot to learn under Howe.
Osula has made only nine substitute appearances in the Premier League this season, but he took his chance against Birmingham yesterday.
The forward, who has been described as an “exciting” player by Howe, impressed with a brilliant performance on Saturday. He had 51 touches in the game and completed 14 of his 16 passes (88% accuracy).
Osula registered two assists in the first-half, while making three key passes and creating two big chances. He also completed three of his four dribbles, and won 14 total duels.
The former Sheffield United star proved a point with an excellent display against Birmingham, and he deserves to be given more opportunities.
