According to Patrick Berger, a deal for West Ham to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Niclas Füllkrug is certainly possible.

It is understood that the Premier League outfit have already opened talks with Füllkrug’s management, and figures regarding a potential contract have been discussed. As well as this, it is clear from Füllkrug’s perspective that he is wanted by the Hammers.

West Ham’s technical director, Tim Steidten, was hoping to lure the German international to England while he was starring for Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga. Therefore, there is mutual respect between Steidten and Füllkrug.

In order for a deal to be completed, Die Schwarzgelben would demand a fee within the region of €25–€30 million. However, they are keen to keep Füllkrug at the club, and Nuri Şahin has already stated to the striker that he will play an important role at the Westfalenstadion next season.

Nevertheless, a deal for Füllkrug is dependent on the situation regarding Jhon Duran, as negotiations with Aston Villa remain difficult. Füllkrug himself is still undecided on his future, having just returned to Dortmund today.

Interest in the striker remains from a number of clubs, such as Stuttgart, AC Milan, and Atlético Madrid.
