According to the latest reports, Vincent Kompany is on the verge of becoming FC Bayern’s new coach. Apparently, the Belgian could lure an extremely talented compatriot to Säbener Straße.

After several months and numerous twists and turns, FC Bayern’s search for a coach appears to be coming to an end. According to media reports, Vincent Kompany is on the verge of joining the German record champions. Only an agreement with Burnley FC regarding the transfer fee is still pending.

Will Kompany bring a dream player to Munich?

As reported by the usually well-informed Dutch media Eindhovens Dagblad and Voetbal International, PSV Eindhoven’s Johan Bakayoko could become a transfer candidate in Munich if Kompany does indeed sign for FC Bayern.

Kompany is a big fan of the winger and reportedly wanted to lure him to Burnley FC last year. However, Bakayoko remained at PSV and played a decisive role in the club’s first league title in six years.

In 48 competitive matches, the 21-year-old has scored 14 goals and provided 14 assists. He also regularly caused chaos in opposing defences with his dribbling skills. Bakayoko has a market value of 40 million euros and is still under contract in Eindhoven until 2026.

Kompany deal finalised this week?

Firstly, the Bayern bosses need to finalise the deal with Kompany. They have been in agreement with the 38-year-old himself since the beginning of the week and Munich’s supervisory board is also said to have already waved the deal through. Eberl and Co. are currently negotiating the transfer fee for Kompany with those responsible at Burnley FC.

Bayern are reportedly prepared to pay around 10 million for the former Manchester City captain. However, he still has a contract with Burnley until 2028, which is why British media speculate that the relegated Premier League side could demand up to 20 million pounds (23.5 million euros) for Kompany. Nevertheless, an agreement between the two clubs is expected to be reached soon.
