Will Osula coming off the bench and then with nine minutes to go and Ukraine leading 2-1, the Newcastle United player turning the game around.

Osula with an assist for the equaliser on 81 minutes, then four minutes later scoring a dramatic late winner.

That performance off the bench earned Will Osula a start on Sunday night against Holland in the second group game.

With Holland dominating and taking a 19th minute lead via an own goal, Denmark looking up against it.

Indeed, Holland big favourites to win this match and as the final stats showed, they continued to dominate throughout, having 65% possession, more than three times as many touches in the opposition box (62 v 20) and the Dutch with 28 shots, with 10 of them on target.

At the other end, Denmark Under 21s with only three on target, all of them thanks to Will Osula, the keeper saving one of them but the Newcastle United forward scoring in the 35th and 47th minutes.

Holland unable to score themselves to add to the own goal and man of the match Will Osula leading Denmark to an unlikely victory with clinical finishing.

Denmark through to the quarter-finals, winning the group with a game to spare.

Will Osula and his international teammates will play their quarter-final next Sunday (22 June), that will be against the runners-up of Group C. The young Danes will play Portugal, France or Georgia, those three team separated by only one point with their final group games to play.

Tino Livramento once again impressed on Sunday but poor finishing from his teammates up front saw England only draw with Slovenia. They should still go through but a point from their final group game against Germany (already qualified) would guarantee it.

There are 16 countries who have qualified for these Under 21s Euros Finals, the tournament runs to 28 June.

The winners and runners-up from each of the four groups goes through to the knockout quarter-finals.

The England and Denmark Under 21s group fixtures at this summer’s Euro finals are:

12 June 2025

15 June 2025

Denmark 2 Holland 1

18 June 2025
