Vinicius Jr.’s camp recently turned down an initial contract offer from Real Madrid, with the player seeking a long-term deal amid rising interest from Saudi Arabia, The Athletic reports.
Now, Saudi clubs are looking to take advantage of the situation, according to a new report. Real Madrid began talks with Vinicius in mid-January, using the early discussions to gauge his demands.
The club offered a salary increase through his representatives, Roc Nation, but the proposal was quickly rejected. This could have caught the attention of Paris Saint-Germain, who may be watching the situation closely.
While PSG doesn’t need star power as much as it did in previous years and has already invested heavily in marquee players, the club could still make a move if the right opportunity arises.
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri recently reported that Vinicius’ advisors have already had informal talks with PSG, and the club is keeping an eye on developments, ready to act if Real Madrid doesn’t meet the player’s expectations.

More than 20 years after stepping down from Barcelona’s board, former president Joan Gaspart explained why Vinicius should accept a move to Saudi Arabia in an interview with Saudi outlet Al-Eqtisadiah.
In Saudi Arabia, they know that pulling off a move like this will require record-breaking figures in football, but they’re ready to go all in.
This bold approach has caught the attention of Real Madrid’s rivals, as Gaspart pointed out (h/t Diario AS): “I hope he accepts it because he’s one of the top players, and his departure would be the best thing for the Blaugrana.”
Gaspart also had high praise for Vinicius: “He’s incredibly fast, has amazing dribbling skills, a fierce character, but always stays highly motivated for his team.”
For now, though, the Brazilian has said he’s happy at Madrid and wants to stay. Carlo Ancelotti, on his end, is “tired of the topic.” But this proposal could change even the most convinced minds, and as Gaspart puts it, it would surely make more than one person happy.
This season, the Brazilian has recorded 16 goals and registered 12 assists in 32 appearances across all competitions.
