Why did Paris FC’s talks to sign N’Golo Kanté break down? | OneFootball

Paris FC began talks to sign N’Golo Kanté (34) in mid-August, however, they did not bring about an agreement between all parties. L’Équipe have revealed why.

Kanté was proposed to Paris FC and AS Monaco last month. The latter confirmed that there had been talks with the 2018 World Cup winner, however, talks proved difficult, and so the deal was abandoned. The issue, it has been revealed, may have been on Al-Ittihad’s side, with Paris FC also failing to reach an agreement with the Saudi side.

Paris FC owner Antoine Arnault was directly involved in talks to sign the former Chelsea and Leicester City midfielder. Finding an agreement with Kanté may not have been difficult, but Al-Ittihad had significant demands to release the player, who has just one year remaining on his deal. The Frenchman, for now at least, remains in the Gulf State. However, the door has now been opened for a return to France.
