An insight into the plans of the brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid to cover for the expected departure of Dani Ceballos has today been provided.

The name of midfielder Ceballos has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines in Spain’s capital across the day to date.

This comes after confirmation was forthcoming that the former Arsenal man has made crystal clear to the Real Madrid board his intention to move on.

Frustrated by the lack of game-time afforded to him this past season, Ceballos is eyeing a new challenge, potentially with another of La Liga’s leading clubs.

In the case of such a transfer coming to fruition, though, how do Florentino Pérez and co. intend to proceed?

Los Blancos are already facing up to the loss of engine room standout Toni Kroos, with word of Ceballos preparing to follow suit having given rise to suggestions that Los Blancos could dip into the market for a replacement.

This, however, will not prove to be the case.

As per a report from the reliable Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, to cover for the predicted loss of Ceballos, Carlo Ancelotti and co. intend to promote from within:

‘If Ceballos does not continue, Real Madrid have decided not to sign anyone in midfield, even though they have lost Kroos. Mario Martin or Nico Paz would be brought in from Real Madrid Castilla, the club’s reserve team that is full of youth players.’
