Four Serie A players have found the net for their national sides so far in this November international break, including a Puskas contender from Antonio Sanabria, and yet another Argentina goal for Inter captain Lautaro Martinez.
Genoa’s Jeff Ekhator and Hamza Rafia of Lecce are the other two Serie A representatives who have scored so far this international break.
Sanabria’s goal for Paraguay has been labelled a contender for the Puskas Award. The Torino forward hit a first-time bicycle kick into the far corner after 19 minutes of Paraguay’s 2-1 win over Argentina in World Cup qualifying.
Also on the scoresheet that game was Nerazzurri skipper Martinez. He opened the scoring after 11 minutes, beating an offside trap to go one-on-one for his 31st international goal on his 69th cap.
Rafia also opened the scoring for Morocco as they recorded an entertaining 3-2 victory away against Madagascar in AFCON qualification.
18-year-old Jeff Ekhator, meanwhile, netted his first goal for Italy’s U19 side as the Azzurrini inflicted a 3-0 defeat over their counterparts from Montenegro on Wednesday.
