Manchester City have today launched their brand new home kit for the forthcoming 2024/25 campaign, with Mancunian rapper Tays featuring in the promotional content.

The latest edition from Puma features a release pointing towards the culture of Manchester, with an 0161 graphic embroiled across its collar and cuffs in reference to the region’s dialling code, with a traditional sky blue colour taking centre stage once again.

Celebrating the launch of the new kit, the new launch video distributed across Manchester City and Puma’s social channels featured Mancunian rapper Mikey Taylor – also known as Tays – who wrote and performed the soundtrack for the MCR 0161 Home kit launch film.

Speaking about his involvement, Tays said: “As a City fan, it is a dream come true to write and perform a track for the launch of the new Manchester City 24/25 Home kit, celebrating 0161 and what it is to be Mancunian.

“I love how it’s in the design of the shirt – it’s fresh, but still reflects what it means to be City. I hope fans around the world connect with the track, and I can’t wait to see the team walk out in this kit.”

However, Manchester City fans will have to wait a little while before seeing Pep Guardiola’s first-team stars in the new 2024/25 kit, with Simon Bajkowski of the Manchester Evening News confirming it’s debut date.

Manchester City will show off their new home kit for the first time on the club’s pre-season tour of the United States this summer, having opted to remain in their current edition for the remainder of the ongoing season.

As such, City will walk out in their current 2023/24 home kits against West Ham United on the final day of the Premier League season this weekend, and on FA Cup Final day at Wembley Stadium against Manchester United.

Manchester City have the opportunity to win a fourth successive Premier League title this weekend, after their win over Tottenham on Tuesday night meant that they are within just one win of the English top-flight crown.

Victory in the Manchester derby at Wembley Stadium a week later would also make Pep Guardiola’s team the first to ever retain the domestic double, following on from the pair of trophies that made up part of their Treble last campaign.
