The fixtures for the 2025/26 Championship season have been released.
Charlton Athletic's fixture list for the 2025/26 Championship season has been released.
The Addicks will host Watford at The Valley on the opening day, before travelling to take on Bristol City at Ashton Gate in the second game of the season.
Nathan Jones and his players will then face Leicester City in their second home game of the campaign, and round off August in West London against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.
Charlton will renew their rivalry with Millwall at The Valley in September and at The Den in January, while Nathan Jones will reacquaint himself with both Southampton and Stoke City in November and February.
The run-in will see Charlton face Ipswich Town and Hull City in their final two home games of the season, before a trip to Swansea City will bring their 2025/26 EFL campaign to a close - unless Jones delivers an unlikely top six finish.
It is undoubtedly an exciting time for the supporters as they look forward to facing Championship opposition for the first time since the 2019/20 campaign, but they may want to know when Sky Sports' TV selections are going to be announced before they pencil in any potential away days for the season ahead.
It has already been confirmed that Charlton's opening day clash with Watford has been selected for broadcast by Sky Sports, with the game kicking off at 12:30pm on Saturday the 9th of August at The Valley.
Sky Sports have also revealed that they will announce all matches selected for broadcast for the period up until the end of September 2025 by the 3rd of July, so supporters of the Addicks will be able to confidently plan for the first two months of the season as early as next week.
By the 31st of July, Sky Sports will have announced all matches selected for broadcast scheduled for before the third round of the FA Cup, which will be in January 2026.
Supporters will find out which matches have been selected for broadcast between the end of the third round of the FA Cup and the last weekend of February by the 7th of November 2025.
When it comes to matches scheduled after the first weekend in March, selections will be announced on a 'four-week rolling basis', meaning that supporters will find out whether their team is going to be on TV for any given fixture four weeks in advance.
Selections for matches scheduled for the penultimate weekend of the regular season will be announced three weeks in advance, while matches selected for broadcast on the final weekend of the 2025/26 campaign will be confirmed the week before.
It is no secret that fans can grow frustrated when fixtures are rearranged for TV broadcast, especially when it causes logistical problems with regard to travel and accomodation.
However, Sky Sports have stated that they are giving supporters up to five months' notice when it comes to matches selected for broadcast this season.
Supporters had been given just five weeks' notice on the previous deal, so hopefully Charlton supporters will be given plenty of time to make arrangements for the majority of the 2025/26 season.
