Manchester United are reportedly planning a large scale summer rebuild under the stewardship of Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

The INEOS owner completed a minority purchase of a stake in the club in February and has taken control of footballing operations at Old Trafford.

Jason Wilcox has already been appointed as the club’s new technical director while United wait to welcome former Manchester City CEO Omar Berrada this summer.

Dan Ashworth remains on gardening leave with Newcastle while the two clubs thrash out a compensation package ahead of his move to Manchester as a sporting director.

Erik ten Hag’s future at United is unclear amid links with a move for England manager Gareth Southgate at the end of the season.

The Daily Telegraph reported that the new hierarchy are prepared to overhaul the squad and Rashford has been linked with a move to French giants, Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG are expected to lose Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid this summer and reports suggest England international Rashford could be lined up as a replacement.

Speaking in December 2022, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi hailed Rashford as “really amazing” and confirmed their interest in the forward, albeit he has since signed a new five-year contract with United.

"He’s another player that is really amazing," said Al-Khelaifi. "And for free? To have Rashford for free, every club would run after him, definitely.

"We’re not hiding it, we spoke before and… interest. But the moment was not a good moment for both sides. Maybe, summer, why not?

"Today if he’s a free agent of course we can talk to him directly but we are not going to talk to him now. Let him focus on the World Cup. Then after in January, hopefully, if we’re interested we will talk to him.”
