West Ham head to Liverpool in the Premier League this afternoon looking to dent the league leader’s title hopes.
Graham Potter has struggled to get consistency from the side he inherited in January, with West Ham having won just two of their last 10 league games. It’s four without a win for the East Londoners, who drew 2-2 with Bournemouth in an entertaining clash last weekend.
Niclas Fullkrug scored a brilliant header in that clash as the German steps up his recovery from injury. The forward has endured a tough time during his debut season, but his return is welcome for a West Ham side that have lacked a focal point.
Liverpool are looking for a response of their own this weekend. The Reds lost 3-2 at Fulham last weekend, just their second Premier League defeat of the campaign. However, it’s three defeats in four games across all competitions for Arne Slot’s side.
Graham Potter has no new injury concerns, with Michail Antonio, Crysencio Summerville and Aaron Cresswell remaining on the sidelines.
The West Ham boss did say that Niclas Fullkrug would be assessed, with the East Londoners keen to take a cautious approach with the German.
Fullkrug has played just 449 minutes in the Premier League following his arrival from Borussia Dortmund last summer, due to a succession of injury issues. The 32-year-old has scored three goals and provided an assist in that limited amount of action.
West Ham predicted XI: Areola; Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Emerson; Alvarez, Ward-Prowse; Kudus, Soler, Paqueta; Bowen.
Liverpool host West Ham in the Premier League on Sunday 13th April. Kick-off at Anfield is 14:00 BST.
The game will be shown live by Sky Sports in the UK.
