According to The Athletic, West Ham United and Crystal Palace are looking at Olympique Lyonnais’ attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki (21).
Both London clubs are interested in the France U21 who is thought to be on the market in the new year following Lyon’s meeting with the DNCG. The French financial watchdog provided Lyon with a provisional relegation as well as a transfer ban (preventing incoming signings) due to the club’s current financial situation.
This will likely force Lyon to sell some of their prized assets in the winter transfer window which could mean academy graduate Cherki will finally be on the move. However, it has been previously noted that Les Gones will not be looking to provide any favours and will want to recoup at least 30 to 35 million euros.
Furthermore, West Ham and Crystal Palace will have to contend with Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen who are both thought to be interested in the Frenchman in what could be one of the bigger transfer stories in the coming months.
