As reported by Sky Sports, West Ham have agreed a deal with Leeds United forward Crysencio Summerville, and are also in are in ‘advanced talks’ for Borrussia Dortmund’s Niclas Füllkrug.

The Hammers have reached a total agreement with Leeds for Summerville, who has agreed personal terms and is set to sign onto a five-year contract with the club, whilst the final details of an agreement for Füllkrug – such as the structure between the clubs, and personal terms with the player – are currently being sorted.

The German international was a target for West Ham prior to his €17m move to Dortmund from Werder Bremen last summer, and will see them secure their striker target following stalled talks with Aston Villa’s Jhon Durán.

Having scored 12 goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances last season and 16 in 28 in the 2022/23 campaign, the 31-year-old, nicknamed as “Lücke” (“gap” in German) due to the gap in his front teeth, a move to London will see Füllkrug join as an experienced target man in what would be his first ever club venture outside of his homeland.

As for Summerville, this would mark a significantly different yet particularly exciting deal for Julen Lopetegui’s new side. At just 22-years-old, the electric winger lit up the Championship from the left-flank last season, accumulating 19 goals and nine assists as Leeds narrowly missed out on promotion in a play-off final loss to Southampton.

However, that won’t stop the Dutchman from moving up to the Premier League, who will look to continue the form that saw him claim the official Championship player of the season award last campaign.

As such, both potential signings would indicate West Ham’s significant backing of their new Spanish manager, having already completed three deals already this summer.

As they look to replicate the European success achieved under David Moyes, The Claret and Blues have secured Wes Foderingham on a free deal, Brazilian wonderkid Luis Guilherme for €23m, as well as Wolves captain Max Kilman for £40m – who was a pivotal member of Lopetegui’s team prior to the 57-year-old leaving The Wanderers before the beginning of last season.
