Unless any big surprises, Eddie Howe says he expects the Newcastle United first team squad not to change ahead of 11pm on Monday night.

The Newcastle United Head Coach declaring; “We’re not actively looking to bring players in [this transfer window].”

Eddie Howe indicating that Martin Dubravka will not be leaving this window, for a Saudi Pro League club, or indeed any other club. Whilst Will Osula won’t be going out on loan to get more first team football these next four months, instead remaining part of this NUFC first team squad.

As for the Fulham match, it looks like only Harvey Barnes, Jamaal Lascelles and Callum Wilson (and Miguel Almiron!) set to be missing for sure.

Eddie Howe Fulham press conference – 31 January 2025:

“The next group of games will be important for us.

“Every result takes on huge importance.

“We have been on a run of results and doing well, so we need to carry that on.”

Eddie Howe on Miguel Almiron signing for Atlanta United:

“Miggy was a very special player and person, he will be greatly missed by everyone.

“Miggy had a bubbly and bright personality, he was ultra professional.

He would always be in looking after himself, eating the right foods and recovering, he was a really good role model.

“Miggy is going to be greatly missed as a player and as a person.

“He always gave his best, in any moment.

“Miggy going leaves us a bit short in that area but it was a deal we needed to do because of PSR.

“As it stands, I expect the squad will remain the same.

“We knew this window would be one we wouldn’t recruit in.

“We’re not actively looking to bring players in [this transfer window]”

Eddie Howe on Fulham:

“When you play Fulham, you can see their qualities, they are very brave with every aspect, with and without the ball.

“They have added some players that have made their team very competitive, they were very impressive against us [at Craven Cottage].

“We know this will be a tough game and we will never underestimate Fulham.”

Eddie Howe on Jacob Murphy and Alex Isak’s link-up:

“Jacob and Alex are producing goals for us, and it is a great thing.

“We work on relationships all over the team in training.

“I am a big believer in partnerships, you can make your partner play better, it is great to see two players having a good season.”

Eddie Howe on Harvey Barnes and Callum Wilson:

“Callum is getting there, we have seen him in training this week.

“He’s not been involved in all of the session but part of it, there is no plan to involve him this week but chance for games coming up after.

“Harvey is a little behind, he is maybe two to three weeks away.”
