Timothy Weah has thanked Juventus fans “for your unwavering support and dedication to the badge”, after the USA international completed his move to Ligue 1 side Marseille on loan with an obligation-to-buy.
Posting on his Instagram page after the move was confirmed this evening, Weah said:
“From a young kid dreaming of the big stage, to wearing the black and white of Juventus. Thank you for making that dream real. I’ll be forever grateful to this club, my teammates, the fans, and the beautiful city of Torino.
“To my brothers in the locker room, thank you for embracing me and pushing me every day. We built something real, and I’ll always carry that with me.
“To the people of Torino… your warmth and love made this city feel like home from day one.
“Thank you to all the fans for your unwavering support and dedication to the badge. I’ll forever be a Juventini.”

Weah has been the subject of much speculation in this transfer window. Earlier in the summer, Weah was reportedly close to a move to Premier League side Nottingham Forest. The English club had submitted a bid for the American forward but the player snubbed the move. Instead, Marseille appeared as suitors and Weah had his heart set on joining Roberto De Zerbi in Ligue 1.

Weah joins the French club on loan with an obligation-to-buy after two years in Turin. Last season, Weah scored 5 goals and assisted twice in 30 Serie A matches for the Old Lady, taking his overall tally with the Bianconeri to 78 matches and 7 goals in all competitions.
