Ederson has agreed on all personal terms with Galatasaray ahead of a prospective move to the Turkish Super Lig champions, according to reports.

The 31-year-old has been the subject of transfer speculation throughout the summer, with interest previously emerging from Saudi Arabia before momentum shifted towards Galatasaray in recent weeks.

While talks with Napoli earlier in the summer failed to produce an agreement, the Istanbul club have since made clear progress, with Ederson seemingly now fully on board with a move to Turkey should Manchester City agree on a sale.

This latest development marks the strongest indication yet that the Brazilian international’s eight-season stay at the Etihad Stadium may be coming to a close. While City are not actively forcing an exit, they have been open to offers for Ederson this summer, aware of both the player’s age and the financial opportunity a transfer could present during the final 12 months of his contract.

Manchester City have already assessed a number of potential replacements, including FC Porto’s Diogo Costa and Juventus’ Michele Di Gregorio, the firm focus appears to be on former Academy starlet and now Burnley and England international James Trafford.

Stefan Ortega Moreno also remains under contract at the club and is seen as a capable successor should the club choose to promote internally, but his own ambition for regular first-team football could complicate succession planning if a signing of Trafford was completed.

Now, according to journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu – in comments relayed by Haber Sarikirmizi and translated by Sport Witness – Ederson has agreed personal terms with Galatasaray, who in turn are now holding talks with Manchester City over a transfer fee for the 31-year-old.

“Ederson has reached an agreement on everything. Agreed on a salary of less than €10 million,” the Turkish journalist revealed this week.

It has been further explained, “Galatasaray also called Manchester City and said: ‘We will never go above €10 million. If you’re okay, we’re okay.’

“Okan Buruk met with Ederson and told him about his plan.”

The major obstacle now lies in Galatasaray’s firm stance over a transfer fee, with the club setting a non-negotiable upper limit of €10 million, a figure that could yet fall short of City’s valuation of Ederson.

City are likely to push for an improved proposal, especially given the lack of financial urgency on their part to offload. Galatasaray, however, are confident that Ederson’s willingness to join and limited market of suitors willing to meet both salary and valuation demands could eventually pressure a compromise.

From the player’s perspective, Ederson is keen on a new challenge, having won every major trophy available during his time in Manchester. His consistent links to an exit – particularly amid Saudi Arabian interest across the past two summers – suggest a growing openness to winding down his European career elsewhere.

For now, Ederson’s exit remains highly possible, but still not guaranteed and Manchester City’s transfer department must decide whether to hold out for a stronger bid or cash in now and begin a new chapter between the posts – perhaps featuring James Trafford.
