There was an excellent article a couple of weeks ago by ‘Wor Lass’, it was centred around the comments section and clearly explained The Mag and the Editor’s position.

I like reading the comments and find them very revealing of the people who do comment, though I rarely comment myself. Though very few actually give their real name.

The last article of mine that went up on The Mag revolved around the disappointment of under achievement and it looks like on the eve of our game at Brentford, that we will disappointed again.

I threw into the article my dismay at government monopolies being privatised to the detriment of society and that the Premier League was doing exactly the same thing. Serving a select few (the so called ‘big six’ who were all complicit in the planning of the European Super League and breaking away from us and all the other traditional big clubs and their working class supporters).

Political? My views? Common sense in my book.

Cue the commentators telling me to stop bringing politics onto The Mag and how about writing about Callum Wilson being injured again?

Well, we can’t ignore politics.

The controlling shareholder of Newcastle United is the Saudi Arabia PIF and there are organised campaigns against us, as well as other clubs’ supporters citing “blood money”, though that same blood money going into the Man U coffers for now 16 years and counting, without mainstream media raising an eyebrow, or doing their jobs and bringing it to public attention.

Our Chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan is front page news and was probably front row for the Fury v Usyk fight.

Talk about in your face politics.

Call it Sportswashing, Pinkwashing, whatever, we are in a world where politics is intertwined with sport, and sport is a vehicle that the Saudi Arabians are now driving through with their financial clout.

Unfortunately for us Newcastle supporters, Man City have already rocked the boat with their wealth and now the rules have been changed.

I used to buy The Mag at games (as well as at Selectadisc and Sportspages) and it was my link to Newcastle in pre-internet days.

I wrote my first article after my lifelong mate died and was shocked / amazed when it was published.
