The question we were asking fans on Tuesday was; ‘How confident are you that Eddie Howe will be happy with Newcastle United 2025/26 transfer business by the time the window closes?’

We have now moved into July and the first 25 days of this summer’s trading have gone by.

So far, only 18 year old winger Antonito signed, with development compensation set to be paid to Malaga.

Including today (2 July 2025), there are still 62 days of this summer transfer window to go, before trading ends at 7pm on 1 September 2025.

A Newcastle United bid for Joao Pedro has been unsuccessful, with the Brighton player choosing to go to Chelsea instead.

Other bids for James Trafford and Anthony Elanga have also been knocked back but in both cases, Newcastle United reported to still be in ongoing talks with both Burnley and Nottingham Forest.

United also said to be pursuing a number of other options for various areas of the team and squad.

So how confident are you that by the end of this summer’s trading, Eddie Howe will be happy with the 2025/26 summer transfer business?

We asked Newcastle United fans to vote somewhere between 1-10, with 1 the very least confidence you could possibly have, with 10 the most confidence it would be possible to have that Eddie Howe will be happy with his transfer business by the end of the window.

I don’t think we have ever had a poll on The Mag where the votes are so evenly spread across all options.

I believe this sums up where we are at.

Until this summer’s signings start coming through the door, for Newcastle United fans it simply boils down to how much confidence (or not…) you have that Eddie Howe will get the signings he wants.

Averaging out all the votes, it gave an average confidence of 5.5 out of 10 that Eddie Howe will end up happy with his summer 2025 transfer business.

Here’s hoping that we can repeat this poll in the not too distant future, when with a number of signings having been made, fans will be more convinced that things will turn out well.
