Barcelona superstar Robert Lewandowski, at 36 years of age, is still one of the best strikers in the world and his numbers serve as a testament to the same.
After all, only an injury and a relatively off end of the season saw him lose out in the Pichichi Trophy last season.
The Polish striker is now rejuvenating and unwinding after a hectic season and did not even link up with his national team in the recent international break.
His eyes, needless to say, are on the upcoming pre-season with Hansi Flick and he is determined to continue being an important player for the Blaugrana despite his age.
Hansi Flick has called his troops to reassemble for the new season only on July 13th and close to three weeks remain before the players make their way back to training.
Lewandowski, however, is not resting and has already begun his preparations for the new season as revealed in a recent video on his social media profile.
In his personal update, the player released a 30-second clip of himself pushing himself to the limit to stay physically fit and sharp on the field.
He is seen performing physical exercises and practising shots on target in the video and accompanied the update with a caption – ‘Training Mode: Activated.’
What is clear from the update is that the striker has no intentions of slowing down next season and wishes to continue as a regular under Flick in the 2025/26 season. If recent years are anything to go by, he still has it in his tank.
It remains to be seen what prominence the manager provides the Pole with next season, especially with Raphinha expected to move to a central role should Nico Williams arrive. He will be key, but likely will be rotated more often to preserve his fitne
