Barcelona president Joan Laporta was on Saturday drawn once more on the possibility of the club signing Nico Williams from La Liga rivals Athletic Club this summer.

This, of course, comes amid a fresh round of speculation linking the two parties with a joining of forces over the weeks ahead.

Nico’s name reemerged as an altogether prominent one in the headlines across all of Spain late on Friday evening.

This came after a sudden flood of reports were forthcoming, confirming that the attacker’s agent had held a fresh round of talks with Barcelona sporting director Deco.

During as much, Félix Tainta made clear to the Blaugrana chief that Nico is now ready to do whatever it takes to seal a Camp Nou switch.

Spotted out in public for a media appearance a day on, it therefore came as little surprise when the name of Athletic Club’s attacking talisman was put to the aforementioned Joan Laporta.

Barcelona’s president, in quotes secured by El Chiringuito TV, though, opted to keep his cards close to his chest, in responding:

“You are incorrigible, eh? I have asked for health for everyone.”
