Kyle Walker says captaining Manchester City to a historic fourth straight men’s Premier League title and sixth crown in seven seasons ranks as one of the proudest moments of his storied Etihad career.

The England right back joined City from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2017 and in the intervening seven years has established himself as pivotal figure in Pep Guardiola’s squad.

A totem of our iconic Treble winning campaign of 2022/23, Walker was subsequently elected as Club captain ahead of the onset of the 2023/24 season.

And his impact, influence, hunger and desire allied to his wealth of elite experience has proved instrumental in helping City rewrite the history books once again.

Our title win means City have become the first Club in English history to win the league title four years in a row and comes on the back our UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup triumphs earlier this season.

Reflecting on the magnitude of this latest achievement, Walker said it represented one of the most significant and memorable moments in his illustrious career.

“The last few years have been very special for everyone at Manchester City but to have captained this Club to a fourth straight Premier League title is something I will cherish forever,” Walker reflected.

“The Premier League is the benchmark by which everyone is measured.

“It’s rightly renowned as the hardest and most competitive league in the world so to win four in a row illustrates what we have collectively managed to achieve.

“And for me personally to have been captain this season of such a special, talented squad of players has been both an enormous honour and privilege.

“There are so many people I would like to thank but I have to start with Pep, the backroom staff, my colleagues in the dressing room and everyone who works so hard across the Club, day in and day out.

“There is no way we could have won this title without all their incredible work and efforts.

“As a football club we strive to be the very best we can be – and to become the first team in history to win four consecutive Premier League titles makes all that hard work and sacrifice worthwhile.

“It has been a season I will never forget.

“Now we want to celebrate – and then refocus for the FA Cup final against Manchester United.”

Walker also offered his own message of thanks and appreciation towards the City supporters, whose loyal support and passionate appreciation has proved fundamental once again this term.

The England international said the energy, passion and support we have enjoyed all season – both home and away – had proved a key factor in helping City overcome what was the toughest of challenges from both Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to be crowned champions.

“The support we get from the Manchester City fans never ceases to amaze me,” Walker added.

“Week in, week out they are there, whatever the weather, supporting us all the way.

“Their passion and backing honestly means the world to me and all the players.

“I hope that making history by winning a fourth consecutive Premier League title stand as a fitting way for us to say thank you to all our fantastic fans.”
