Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior confirmed that negotiations with the Spanish giants over his renewal are ongoing, but stressed that he hopes to "spend much more time" at the club.
Vinicius was discussing his proposed deal after helping Real Madrid complete a signature Champions League comeback against Manchester City on Tuesday night.
The Brazilian had been whistled by the Etihad crowd from kick-off and was the subject of constant taunts about his Ballon d'Or defeat to City midfielder Rodri last year, but rallied to set up Jude Bellingham's 92nd-minute winner.
This was also the first time Vinicius had addressed the topic of his renewal since reports emerged claiming that he had already rejected an initial contract offer from the club.
"It is always very exciting to be able to have conversations with Real Madrid about my renewal," the fleet-footed forward told TNT Sports Brazil.

"I have a contract until 2027, but I have always said that I want to continue playing here after so much time and making history. I have received the affection of the fans, the president, the coaching staff, all the players... my wish is to be here longer and God willing in the next few days all the negotiations will be resolved to spend much more time here."
Vinicius is also poised to be the subject of a record-shattering bid from Al Hilal. The 24-year-old would not been drawn on that speculation, offering only: "I don't know anything either, nobody has spoken to me, I have to speak to the president and I hope I can stay here for a long time, this competition gives us something more and I want to make history."
Recent speculation in Europe has claimed that Vinicius has become a "source of tension" behind the scenes at Madrid, and that while the club intend to keep him, it won't be at all costs.
