Napoli striker Victor Osimhen now seems set to stay at the club despite all the attempts from his end to seek an exit.
The Partenopei had inserted a hefty release clause in Osimhen’s deal and no clubs had met him, leading to things coming down to Chelsea and Al-Ahli. None of the clubs could complete the deal, with Chelsea never agreeing terms with the player and the Saudi side failing to agree a fee with Napoli.
RMC Sport now state that the Nigerian will stay at Napoli and Chelsea were offering him a wage of €155k a week, which wasn’t deemed enough. As a result, he will not leave.
Al-Ahli had an agreement with the player but never with Napoli and it was the other way around with Chelsea, who had offered Napoli a similar fee as the Saudi side. Even two days ago, it was suggested that Chelsea’s offer to the striker was well below his demands.
