After a successful 2024/25 campaign, Robert Lewandowski is gearing up for his fourth season at Barcelona.

The forward’s contract at Catalonia expires in 2026, but there have been talks of Barcelona potentially extending it until 2027 – an option present in the deal.

However, there is a possibility that next season could be Lewandowski’s final one at the club.

Lewandowski to join Saudi Arabia next year?

It is no secret that Lewandowski, during his spell at Barcelona so far, has received offers from Saudi Arabia.

But the forward has largely resisted those offers as he always wanted to continue plying his trade at Barça.

However, Saudi Arabian media is now reporting that Lewandowski might fold and join Saudi Arabia next year.

According to Al-Riyadiyah, citing Lewandowski’s agency, Gol International, the forward could join Saudi Arabia next year and end his spell at Barcelona.

This is despite the fact that GoI International has confirmed to the news outlet that there have been talks between Saudi Arabia and Lewandowski as of now.

That could change next summer when Lewandowski’s term at Barcelona ends, even though the club do have an option to extend the deal for a year.

Lewandowski’s potential move to Saudi Arabia could spark a new transition at Barcelona, possibly forcing the Catalans to sign a new forward in the market.

That is why perhaps why Barcelona have always resisted the idea of going after a big-money forward this summer and have postponed those plans until the next one.

However, a lot may depend on how Lewandowski fares next season. The forward is not getting younger, and the pressure to score goals consistently will remain higher.

Whether or not Lewandowski can live up to those expectations, even at the age of 36, remains to be seen.
