Manchester United interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has provided a fresh update on Tyrell Malacia ahead of the Europa League meeting against PAOK tomorrow.

The Red Devils recently provided a training ground update where it was confirmed that Leny Yoro, Christian Eriksen and Antony were involved in team training.

Speaking in his pre-match presser, Van Nistelrooy has now revealed that Malacia is also back in full training with no restrictions, but he could feature for the Under 21s first.

He told reporters (live on Manutd.com): “Tyrell [Malacia] is fully in team training, and no restrictions, and it’s good to plan his game minutes, maybe in the under 21’s.”

Malacia unlikely to be rushed back

The Netherlands international has not played a competitive game for the Red Devils since May last year.

He has since been recovering from a knee surgery after multiple setbacks. Malacia has been involved in partial sessions lately and he is now working fully with the squad.

However, he is unlikely to be rushed back to first-team action. The former Feyenoord man could get minutes with the development squad in order to boost his fitness.

Once he is deemed match fit, he could make his long-awaited comeback for the Red Devils.

Judging by what Van Nistelrooy said, Malacia may not be involved with the senior team until after the international break when new manager Ruben Amorim will be in the dug-out.

United have had a dreadful start to the Europa League campaign with three straight draws and they will be desperate to pick up their maiden victory against PAOK tomorrow.
