The Head of Recruitment will be responsible for managing and overseeing the talent identification, recruitment, and scouting strategy for Leeds United FC.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Effectively and efficiently manage Leeds United FC football recruitment strategy, working closely with the Senior Team Manager and Technical Director regarding the scouting and recruitment of eligible and potential players. 
  • Develop, review, and update Leeds United’s recruitment philosophy, policies, protocols, and procedures. 
  • Manage and coordinate Leeds United’s recruitment supporting staff and scouts to ensure there is a clear strategy for the scouting and recruitment of players. 
  • Review, update and implement the scouting reports and ensure all reports are completed by all recruitment/scouting staff. 
  • Develop and maintain appropriate online tools to increase efficiency in player reporting, targeting, player acquisition and succession planning for the Association’s football recruitment. 
  • Creating robust and comprehensive rating systems and other visualisations to provide up to date insightful information within the recruitment strategy. 
  • Continually monitor the performance of Leeds United’s scouting network and players identified. 
  • Ensure Leeds United’s player database is updated and monitored on a monthly basis. 
  • Manage Leeds United’s recruitment budget and scout’s expenses. 
  • Attend relevant Leeds United FC meetings, whilst also implementing departmental meetings and in- service training for scouts. 
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Leeds United FC policies, including health and safety policies; and all relevant legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements. 
  • Proactively participate in training and development opportunities, staff performance, appraisals, and reviews. 
  • Always comply with the Data Protection Policy regarding safeguarding sensitive customer information. 
  • Perform the job in accordance with the company’s policies, procedures, processes and working practices, especially the Equal Opportunities and Harassment Policy and Procedure. 
  • Perform any other duties as may reasonably be required.

Experience we are looking for:

  1. Credible track record of scouting and recruiting elite level players within a professional football setting such as an academy or club and a good understanding of the relevant rules and regulations governing football.
  2. Experience of appropriate online tools to increase efficiency in player reporting, targeting and player acquisition.

Technical Skills:

  • Formal qualification within professional football. Minimum B Licence. 
  • Level 3 Talent Identification ( The FA )or working Towards level 3 Talent Identification ( The FA ) 
  • Flexible working hours 
  • Relationships - external clubs & Agents network 
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and listening skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. 
  • IT literate, strong planning and organisational skills and able to maintain accurate database records 
  • Use of Power point and reporting scouting systems 
  • Management delivery & effective solution offering 
  • Passionate about professional player recruitment 
  • Drive and disciplined to develop individual & as a team 
  • Ability to work in an agile and innovative manner within fast pace football industry 
  • Proven track record in Youth recruitment 
  • Clean UK Driving License
