Leeds United Under-21s kickstart their 2025 with a return to Premier League Cup action, as they host Charlton Athletic Under-21s at the LNER Community Stadium on Saturday, with action getting underway at 12pm.
Originally scheduled for November, the previous tie fell foul of the weather, with the rearranged fixture now to be played this weekend.
The third-placed Whites have work to do as they look to progress from Group C into the knockout phases of the competition, though know a win will see them leapfrog the Addicks and move into the top two.
Scott Gardner’s side have won once, drawn once and lost twice in the tournament so far, starting with a hard-fought 1-1 result against the South London outfit at The Valley first up.
Luca Thomas had opened the scoring for United early on but Charlton quickly levelled proceedings, with neither side then able to grab a winner back in September.
A fine second half display then brought a 3-1 victory over Stockport County, before Leeds were narrowly edged out by Birmingham City on the road and in the return fixture against the Hatters.
Chris Lock’s Charlton, meanwhile, followed the opening draw up with an impressive 2-0 success over County, courtesy of goals from Emmanuel Sol-Loza and Ibrahim Fullah, before being held to a 2-2 draw at home against the Blues.
Action from the LNER Community Stadium gets underway at 12pm.
