Two promising Manchester City players could play against Plymouth Argyle

Manchester City take on Plymouth Argyle tomorrow at the Etihad Stadium. The fifth-round FA Cup tie is an opportunity for Pep Guardiola’s side to build upon their recent 1-nil win over Tottenham. To do that we may see Pep Guardiola rotate his squad to allow a host of City’s fringe players to play and impress. This policy may also allow some of Manchester City’s youngsters to impress. Two of those players could potentially be centre-back Vitor Reis and attacking midfielder Claudio Echeverri.

Speaking during his pre-game press conference ahead of Manchester City’s FA Cup clash with Plymouth Argyle, Pep Guardiola was full of praise for Vitor Reis. He spoke highly of how the young centre-back has settled into life at Manchester City. Speaking about Reis Guardiola said: “Really good, he’s so young, comes from Brazil, but he’s incredibly focussed. There are central defenders with physicality and conditions, and the others are so clever and intelligent. And this is one of the ones. He hasn’t come to Manchester City for a short period, it’s a long, long time, like [Abdukodir] Khusa, and we are really pleased for the way he’s training, behaving, and the potential that he has.

This week also saw Claudio Echeverri finally arrive at Manchester City. Guardiola was asked about his impression of Echeverri as a player. He told the media: “He arrived yesterday, yeah, good, good skills! Yeah, welcome! We’re going to help him, and yeah, we’ll see. Another player.

Guardiola was also asked when Claudio Echeverri could be ready to play for Manchester City. The City manager said he wasn’t sure. Guardiola said: “I don’t know. He’s arrived and we’re in the decisive part of the season, where every game is a final.

Vitor Reis appears more likely to play against Plymouth Argyle than Claudio Echeverri.

There is a chance that we could see both Vitor Reis and Claudio Echeverri play against Plymouth Argyle tomorrow. Tomorrow’s FA Cup tie is the chance for Pep Guardiola to rotate his squad for what lies ahead during the closing stages of this season. Of the two players mentioned above it does seem that there is more chance of Vitor Reis playing rather than Claudio Echeverri.

Vitor Reis started Manchester City’shard-foughtt 2-1 win over Leyton Orient in the fourth round of the FA Cup. He played the first half and showed enough to suggest that he is definitely a player full of talent and potential. The young Brazilian defender has also been a member of Pep Guardiola’s squad for a while longer than Claudio Echeverri. This should see Vitor Reis start tomorrow’s match given the chance Pep Guardiola has to rotate his squad.

If Claudio Echeverri does feature tomorrow it will more than likely be off the bench. He only arrived at Manchester City yesterday so it does appear unlikely that he will start against Plymouth Argyle.

But we could see two of Manchester City’s youngsters in Vitor Reis and Claudio Echeverri feature during tomorrow’s match. It could just be a matter of when they get on the pitch at the Etihad tomorrow.
