Arsenal duo Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly join new Chelsea forward Liam Delap, Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez and Morgan Rogers in the nominees for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
The PFA Young Player of the Year is an annual award recognising the player, aged 21 or under, who has had the best season in the Premier League.
Cole Palmer currently holds the title after his stellar campaign in the 2023/24 season, scoring 24 goals and providing 13 assists in all competitions.
Here are the six nominees for this year’s edition of the award:
The 22-year-old will be looking to join his new teammate Palmer in winning the award, having made the £30m switch to Chelsea at the start of June.
Delap scored 12 goals for Ipswich in their first season back in the Premier League since 2002, but it was not enough as the Tractor Boys were ultimately relegated with only 22 points.
The Spain international’s maiden Premier League season attracted many suitors, but it was Real Madrid who were able to secure his services, activating his £50m clause.
Having joined Bournemouth from Juventus in the summer of 2024, the 20-year-old proceeded to have a standout season for the Cherries, contributing to seven clean sheets.
The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool were all interested in prising the defender away from the Cherries, but it was Los Blancos who convinced Huijsen to join.
After two full seasons in the Premier League, Kerkez has evolved into one of the best full-backs in the league.
His ability to run at players, overlap wingers and set up goals from full-back has made him a real asset to Andoni Iraola’s side.
The 22-year-old is reportedly close to joining league champions Liverpool after impressing with Bournemouth.
Lewis-Skelly has had a sensational breakthrough season for club and country, making 38 appearances for Arsenal since his debut against Manchester City in September.
A central midfielder by trade, the 18-year-old has been used as a left-back, where he has also moved into midfield and been given the license to roam into attacking areas.
The Arsenal defender is now a part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans with the England senior team, and will be staking his claim for a slot in the first team ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Since making his debut at the age of 15 in 2022, Nwaneri has eased his way into the Arsenal senior setup.
The midfielder, who was deployed as a right winger in the absence of Bukayo Saka, scored nine goals in all competitions for the Gunners.
Now with England at the U21 Euros, he will be looking to make his mark on the international stage on their quest to defend their title.
With 29 goal contributions in all competitions for the Villains, the 22-year-old has become indispensable under Unai Emery.
Rogers was paramount in Aston Villa’s Champions League run to the quarter-final, including a sensational hat-trick against Celtic at Villa Park.
The former Middlesbrough midfielder has caught the eye of several Premier League clubs including Arsenal and Chelsea, but it would take a significant fee for Aston Villa to let go of their star playmaker.
