Middlesbrough currently have three players in the 10 highest scorers in the Championship so far this season.
Middlesbrough are on fire in the goalscoring department at the moment.
Michael Carrick took charge of Middlesbrough back in October 2022 and his side are currently playing arguably the best football of those two years.
Boro find themselves inside the play-off places in fifth place, having picked up 30 points from their first 18 league games of the season. Of those 18 games, 50% have been wins, while they have drawn three games and lost six.
Their firepower has been on display recently as they have scored 18 goals in their last five games, which included a 6-2 win away at Oxford United and a 5-1 win at home to Luton Town.
Only Norwich City have scored more goals than Middlesbrough in the Championship so far this season and if Boro continue banging in the goals, they can be real contenders for promotion.
It has been a team effort at the Riverside Stadium this season but three players have stood out by establishing themselves among the best marksmen in the entire division.
Middlesbrough currently have three players in their squad in the top 10 highest Championship goalscorers charts. At the top of those rankings sit Norwich's Borja Sainz on 15 goals and West Brom's Josh Maja on 10, but third and fourth place go to Boro players.
Tommy Conway has enjoyed a fantastic first season at the Riverside Stadium since signing for the club in the summer for a reported £4.5 million. The 22-year-old has made just nine Championship starts for Boro so far this season but has managed to score an impressive eight goals already.
That includes braces against both Norwich City and Hull City, while two of his other goals came after he was brought on as a substitute. Conway is proving to be a real threat for Middlesbrough and is giving Michael Carrick something to think about in the battle for that number nine role with Emmanuel Latte Lath.
Latte Lath has been on fine form as of late, as he has contributed to seven goals in his last five league games. The striker scored on the opening day of the season but endured a rough run early on. That's over now and he's found his shooting boots once again and even scored a hat-trick in Boro's 6-2 win over Oxford United.
With seven goals, the Ivorian sits in fourth in the Championship Golden Boot race - one place behind Conway.
Finn Azaz has been in sparking form this term. He's joint-top of the Championship in terms of assists with seven and is joint-ninth in the division when it comes to goalscoring, with six strikes to his name.
Azaz has been a mainstay in attacking midfield for Boro this season and has contributed to a whopping 13 goals in his first full season at the Riverside Stadium. As a trio, these three players are performing week in week out and are central to Carrick's hopes of leading a successful promotion push.
Middlesbrough have been knocking on the door of promotion for the last few seasons, and this could well be the year that they return to the promised land of the Premier League.
It will be no easy task, as the likes of Leeds United, Burnley, Sunderland, and Sheffield United are all hungry for promotion, and only three teams can go up but current form suggests they'll be right up there.
Carrick does have to work on his side's defensive record and he will have an opportunity to strengthen in January but if Boro can continue to score as many goals as they currently are, they can be a real threat come the end of the season.
