Real Madrid officially presented their latest signing, Trent Alexander-Arnold today at the club’s sports city, with the player’s family, club president Florentino Perez, and many others attending the ceremony.
The 26-year-old right-back arrives from Liverpool, having signed a long-term contract until 2031.
It has been reported that Real Madrid paid a sum of €10 million to Liverpool in order to secure Alexander-Arnold’s release before his contract expired on June 30, so as to have him available for the FIFA Club World Cup.
Following Florentino Perez’s welcome address, Trent Alexander-Arnold spoke at his presentation ceremony, in perfect Spanish, where he stressed how an opportunity to move to Real Madrid does not come along every day.
“Good afternoon, thank you for giving me this opportunity. Signing for a club like Real Madrid doesn’t happen every day. I am very happy. I’m looking forward to showing my game to the Madridistas,” said Trent.
The England international then vowed to give everything to the team and help Los Blancos win more trophies.
“I am aware that I have a big responsibility, but I am ready to give everything. I really want to win a lot of titles and be a champion and grow and enjoy playing with the best.”
“Thank you and Hala Madrid,” he concluded.
Alexander-Arnold will soon speak to the media in a press conference which will conclude his presentation day.
