Arsenal are looking to make some significant early noise in the summer transfer market, with a new striker top of Mikel Arteta’s wishlist. Alexander Isak, Benjamin Sesko and Victor Osimhen are just three of the top names linked so far with the Gunners, who are also now being connected with Marcus Rashford as they battle Tottenham and Manchester United for French starlet Desire Doue.

Chelsea are hoping to sign both Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise and Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford, though need a new manager first with Enzo Maresca and Roberto De Zerbi seemingly now taking the lead in the race to succeed Mauricio Pochettino, who, along with Brentford’s Thomas Frank, has been sounded out to potentially replace Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford with a decision over the Dutchman’s future expected this week.

Tottenham are said to be lining up the likes of Ivan Toney, Jarrad Branthwaite and Evanilson as part of ambitious summer plans, while Liverpool could look to make either Leny Yoro or Leeds winger Crysencio Summerville their first signing under new boss Arne Slot. Ipswich’s Kieran McKenna was considered but Chelsea are now understood to be looking elsewhere.

Manchester City braced for Saudi interest in Ederson deal

Manchester City appear to be braced for summer interest in goalkeeper Ederson.

The Brazil international, 30, has been first-choice between the posts for Pep Guardiola’s Premier League champions for years now after joining from Benfica in 2017, making 332 appearances across all competitions so far.

According to the Daily Mail, Ederson has been considering a fresh challenge of late and is now subject to interest from Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ittihad, who are said to be willing to offer an initial £25m for his services.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr are also believed to have an interest in Ederson, who is under contract until the summer of 2026.

Report: Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta 'holds Marcus Rashford talks'

Marcus Rashford is being very tentatively linked with a shock transfer to Arsenal this summer.

The England forward’s Manchester United future has been subject to intense speculation for some time now, something which has only increased following the end of a poor season by his standards that saw him miss out on the England squad for Euro 2024.

Paris Saint-Germain were previously thought to be the front-runners for Rashford, with other potential suitors unclear.

Now football365 cite unnamed reports - seemingly originating through X - claiming that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has held talks with Rashford over recent weeks, with “interest on both sides” over a deal.

One to take with a huge pinch of salt for now I would suggest. Surely United would not consider selling Rashford to a direct Premier League rival?

It sounds like they very much want him to stay at Old Trafford, regardless of what happens on the managerial front.

Pep Guardiola expected to leave Manchester City next summer

In case you somehow missed it last night, reports claim that Pep Guardiola is expected to call time on his illustrious stint as Manchester City boss next summer.

City are said to still be hoping to convince Guardiola to extend his deal further, with no official decision from the Barcelona icon yet communicated to them.

Girona boss Michel is mentioned as a potential successor to Guardiola, along with the likes of Julian Nagelsmann, Xabi Alonso and Roberto De Zerbi.

Maresca and De Zerbi now battling for Chelsea job

Enzo Maresca and Roberto De Zerbi are now the two main candidates to take over from Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea.

That is according to The Independent, who claim that both managers have their fans inside the Blues’ leadership hierarchy.

Chelsea’s football-focused bosses are said to favour Leicester chief Maresca, but it is reported that co-owner Behdad Eghbali is a fan of ex-Brighton coach De Zerbi.

Ipswich’s Kieran McKenna is now said to be out of the running, while Brentford’s Thomas Frank is believed to be a long way behind the front-runners in Maresca and De Zerbi.

Arsenal to fight Tottenham and Man United for Desire Doue

Arsenal have a new transfer target in their sights in Desire Doue.

However, it appears they face a potentially fierce fight with several Premier League rivals for Rennes’ impressive teenage midfielder, considered as one of the best young prospects in European football currently.

The Daily Mail report that Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United have all now lodged enquiries for Doue, who would cost around £35m plus add-ons.

There is plenty of other interest around Europe in the 18-year-old French youth international, including from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund.

Pochettino plots double Chelsea raid if he gets Man United job

If Mauricio Pochettino does wind up getting the Manchester United job, it appears he would like to make a quick raid on former club Chelsea.

Football Insider report that Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah could both follow the Argentine from Stamford Bridge to Old Trafford.

England midfielder Gallagher has been an instrumental figure for the Blues and spent the majority of this season as captain, though his contract is due to expire next summer.

Meanwhile, versatile defender Chalobah impressed a great deal under Pochettino towards the end of the season after missing months through injury and almost leaving Chelsea on more than one occasion.

Man United hold Frank and Pochettino talks as Ten Hag decision looms

Manchester United have also held talks with representatives of Brentford boss Thomas Frank, according to reports.

The Telegraph claim that the Red Devils have also had discussions with Mauricio Pochettino’s camp following his recent surprise exit from Chelsea.

United are already known to have held talks with representatives of Kieran McKenna and Thomas Tuchel as they continue to weigh up the future of current boss Erik ten Hag following Saturday’s FA Cup final win over Manchester City at Wembley.

The Times insist that no decision on Ten Hag’s future has yet been taken as he jets off on holiday, with the next few days crucial as the club conduct an end-of-season review that will ultimately determine the Dutchman’s Old Trafford fate.

Chelsea hold more Maresca talks with McKenna out of race

Speaking of Chelsea, the race to succeed Mauricio Pochettino as manager at Stamford Bridge appears to be narrowing once again.

News emerged yesterday that ex-Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi was the mystery name on a final four-man shortlist for the job that also includes Leicester’s Enzo Maresca, Ipswich’s Kieran McKenna and Brentford head coach Thomas Frank.

However, The Guardian now report that early favourite McKenna has pulled out of the race, with further talks held over Maresca at the weekend.

Pep Guardiola’s former right-hand man - believed to have already turned down an approach from Sevilla this summer - is said to have support from key figures in the Chelsea hierarchy, with Frank the only other option being considered as things stand.

Chelsea and Liverpool 'on red alert' over Crysencio Summerville

Liverpool and Chelsea could both reportedly move for Crysencio Summerville following Leeds’ failure to secure an instant return to the Premier League at the weekend.

Daniel Farke’s side lost 1-0 to Southampton in yesterday’s Championship play-off final at Wembley, condemning them to another season in the Championship and sparking immediate transfer speculation over a number of their best players.

One such star is Summerville, the Dutch winger, 22, whom the Daily Express claim is of real interest to both Chelsea and Liverpool this summer.

It is reported that Leeds may now have to offload several key performers in order to ensure that they fully comply with the EFL’s profitability and sustainability rules moving forward.
