Celtic’s social media confirmation came from the Celtic B team account on X, and this was re-tweeted by the club’s main account which incidentally is still short of by about 8600 followers from becoming the first Scottish club to reach a million followers.
Meanwhile on the official Celtic FC website this short announcement confirmed the transfer and there’s also a photo of the young lad signing his contract in the Celtic Boardroom.
Celtic Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Isaac English from Greenock Morton on a three-year deal.
The highly rated 17-year old defender was a pivotal player as Morton’s under-18 side won the Club Academy Scotland Performance League last season.
He also helped the under-18’s reach the final of the Club Academy Scotland cup, with his impressive performances eventually earning him a call up to the Cappielow side’s first team.
English will join up with Celtic FC B team, where he will work and progress under manager and former Celtic captain, Stephen McManus.

‘Isaac English completes move to Celtic’ is the headline on the official Greenock Morton website. Their report continues:
Greenock Morton FC can today confirm the transfer of Isaac English to Celtic Football Club for an undisclosed fee.
Isaac, one of our professional modern apprentices, who was part of the CAS Performance League title winning side last season, as well as reaching the final of the CAS Cup, has been under the watchful eye of the Scottish Premiership champions for a period of months.
Following discussions between Greenock Morton FC and Celtic FC, an agreement was reached for Isaac, who has been part of our academy for a number of years, to move to Parkhead and everybody at the club wishes Isaac well in his next chapter and we look forward to watching his future development.
Welcome to Celtic, Isaac!
