Tottenham travel face Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday evening. The Europa League winners will look to claim their second piece of silverware in three months in Udine.
Spurs secured their first European trophy in over 40 years by defeating Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League final in May. They now face Champions League winners PSG, who achieved a historic treble last season before falling short in the Club World Cup final.
Thomas Frank takes charge of his first competitive fixture since replacing Ange Postecoglou as Tottenham manager. The Danish tactician has excluded Yves Bissouma from the squad for disciplinary reasons, citing the Mali international’s repeated lateness as unacceptable.
Dominic Solanke is available for selection after recovering from an ankle injury that restricted him to one pre-season appearance. The England striker offers Frank an additional attacking option alongside Richarlison for the European showpiece.
However, Frank faces significant injury concerns ahead of the final. James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski remain sidelined. Maddison has undergone successful surgery on an ACL injury and will miss much of the upcoming campaign. Radu Drăgușin is also a long-term absentee due to an ACL injury and is not likely to return until mid-October.
Summer signings Mohammed Kudus and João Palhinha have both impressed during pre-season. Kudus joined from West Ham United for £55m and provides pace and creativity from wide positions, whilst Palhinha offers defensive solidity in midfield alongside Rodrigo Bentancur.
Tottenham predicted XI: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence; Bentancur, Palhinha; Kudus, Sarr, Odobert; Richarlison.
Tottenham face Paris Saint-Germain at Stadio Friuli in Udine on Wednesday, 13th August 2025. Kick-off is 8 PM BST.
The UEFA Super Cup will be broadcast live on TNT Sports 1 in the UK. TNT Sports subscribers can stream the match via the Discovery+ app. International viewers can find broadcast details on UEFA’s official website.
