Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Bournemouth defender Illia Zabarnyi, according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
They are willing to pay €70 million to sign Zabarnyi, who has become highly sought-after due to his performances since moving to Bournemouth from Dynamo Kyiv in January 2023.
He established himself as a first-team regular, making 78 Premier League appearances and playing a pivotal role alongside Dean Huijsen, who recently joined Real Madrid.
Spurs struggled with several defensive injuries and are keen to bolster their options ahead of the new season, especially with Cristian Romero facing an uncertain future.
Tottenham are aiming to capitalise on their recent Europa League success and build a squad capable of competing on several fronts.
They will face stiff competition from Paris Saint-Germain, with the European champions having already agreed personal terms with the player.
Bournemouth would ideally like to keep Zabarnyi but are increasingly resigned to losing a second centre-back this summer.
The Cherries are expected to command a fee in the region of €70m, and Tottenham’s interest in Zabarnyi could force PSG to increase their offer.
Zabarnyi’s contract runs for another four years until 2029, meaning that Bournemouth are in no rush to sell and can afford to hold out until their demands are met.
