In a recent post on X, journalist Sebastien Vidal claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on Nottingham Forest playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White. It has been mentioned that Spurs are eyeing a move to bring the English talent to North London in this summer transfer window.

Gibbs-White’s Impressive Form In The Premier League

Gibbs-White enjoyed an impressive campaign at the City Ground as he put in a series of eye-catching displays for Nottingham in the Premier League. The English talent participated in 38 matches for the Midlands outfit last season, scoring seven times and earning ten assists across various competitions.

The 25-year-old deserves some credit for averaging 1.96 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. However, he kept only 34.4% of his attempts on target. Gibbs-White distributed the ball accurately in the opposition half after completing 78.3% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via fbref.com).

The Stafford-born playmaker is under contract at Nottingham until the summer of 2027. Therefore, Spurs would have to make a big offer if they want to lure him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this off-season.

Should Tottenham Hotspur Snap Gibbs-White Up This Summer?

Gibbs-White is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it in the opponent’s half. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and can even strike the ball with power from long range.

The English sensation is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also serve as a box-to-box midfielder or as a right-winger if asked to do so by his manager. He has got a lot of experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to settle into life at the North London club.

Gibbs-White would add more firepower to Tottenham‘s frontline. He is more than capable of competing with James Maddison for a regular first-team spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.

At 25, Gibbs-White will only improve with each season. He might even help Spurs challenge across all fronts over the next few years. With all things considered, Tottenham would be wise to snap Gibbs-White up as long as they can get him for a reasonable fee in this summer transfer window.
