Tottenham Hotspur’s summer transfer window is heating up, with reports suggesting the club have sanctioned Richarlison’s departure and are closing in on a significant attacking upgrade. As reported by TeamTalk, Turkish giants Galatasaray are now firmly in the running for the Brazilian’s signature, with Spurs preparing for life after the inconsistent forward.
Richarlison’s time in north London has been marked by brief moments of quality but marred by persistent injury setbacks. Since his arrival, the 28-year-old has managed just 20 goals in 90 appearances across all competitions, a return that falls short of expectations given his transfer fee and reputation. Despite admiration from new manager Thomas Frank, Spurs appear ready to part ways with the forward. As TeamTalk revealed, “Spurs are said to have given the ‘green light’ for the frontman to join [Galatasaray].”

Thomas Frank’s arrival at Tottenham is already shifting transfer priorities, and his attention has turned to a familiar and reliable face in Yoane Wissa, the Brentford forward who flourished under his stewardship. The Congolese international has grown into one of the Premier League’s most effective wide forwards, finishing the 2024/25 season with 12 goals and three assists. His power, pace and directness make him a natural fit for the aggressive, transition-heavy system Frank is expected to implement at Spurs.
TeamTalk note, “internal discussions regarding a potential move for Wissa have already taken place following Frank’s arrival” which underlines how integral Wissa is to the club’s summer plans. It also highlights the urgency Tottenham feel to reshape their forward line, especially with Dominic Solanke already onboard as a more central option.
Wissa’s situation is complicated slightly by Brentford’s determination to hold onto him. His contract runs until 2026 with an option for a further year, giving the west London club a strong hand. The reported £50 million valuation is steep but reflective of the forward’s growing status in the league and importance to Brentford, particularly with Bryan Mbeumo also rumoured to be on the move, likely to Manchester United.
As TeamTalk point out, “Brentford are actively working to tie Wissa down to a new, long-term contract.” This could be a strategic move to maximise his market value, but the lure of reuniting with Frank and joining a European-chasing side may prove irresistible for the 28-year-old.

Interestingly, Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho is also keeping tabs on Richarlison, potentially setting up a Super Lig showdown for the Brazilian’s signature. While Galatasaray currently lead the chase, Mourinho’s interest could either drive up the price or force Tottenham’s hand in finalising a quicker deal.
Whether it ends as a loan or a permanent sale, Richarlison’s departure appears to be a matter of when, not if. The real question now is whether Spurs can move swiftly to land Wissa and give Frank the tools he needs to launch a fresh attacking era in north London.
Tottenham fans have reason to be buzzing. After seasons of watching Richarlison stutter and stall through injuries, the chance to move him on and bring in someone like Yoane Wissa is exactly the kind of ambitious, smart business that has been missing.
Thomas Frank coming in has clearly shaken things up and Wissa would be a dream fit. He knows how to play Frank’s system, he’s used to working within a structure that presses high and breaks quickly, and he scores goals – something Richarlison just hasn’t done consistently enough. Wissa bagged 12 this season alone, and with better support and more ball possession at Spurs, those numbers could easily rise.
Spurs fans are desperate for a new identity and some attacking spark. With Solanke likely leading the line and Wissa buzzing off the wing or playing as a second striker, we could finally see the kind of dynamic front line that can break into the top four again. If this deal goes through, it will feel like a proper changing of the guard – out with underperformance, in with intent.
And let’s be honest, Frank poaching one of Brentford’s finest would feel very satisfying. It would be a true statement that Spurs are done with stagnation. Wissa in, Richarlison out? Let’s have it.
