In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are ready to step up their efforts for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi this summer. It is believed that Spurs are showing interest in recruiting the English centre-back as they look to bolster their defence this off-season.
Guehi had an impressive campaign in England after he helped the Eagles win the FA Cup earlier this summer. The 24-year-old participated in 44 matches for Crystal Palace last season, finding the back of the net on three occasions and grabbing a couple of assists across various competitions.
The English talent has been a rock at the back for the London club over the ten months. He has also distributed the ball relatively well from inside his half after making 83.5% of his attempted passes in the Premier League (stats via fbref.com).
His current deal at Selhurst Park will expire next summer which could open the door for Tottenham Hotspur to snap him up on the cheap in this transfer period.

Guehi is a tough-tackling defender who can sense the danger well to secure the ball back for his team on the defensive end of the field. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive.
The English sensation is also proficient at playing his way out from the back. He has proven his worth in the Premier League and won’t take much time to settle into life at Tottenham.
Guehi played at a very high level for Palace last season. We can expect him to enhance the quality of Spurs’ backline. He is more than capable of nailing down a regular first-team spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.
At 24, Guehi has his peak years ahead of him which makes him an excellent fit for the North London club’s needs in the long run. He might even help Spurs challenge for a top-four spot in the Premier League over the next few years. With all things considered, Tottenham should focus on trying everything in their power to get the English defensive ace on board this summer.
