MIAMI – The Concacaf Champions Cup delivered top moments during its latest edition as Cruz Azul claimed the title for a record-tying seventh time.
Here is a look at the best moments throughout the 2025 campaign:
Cruz Azul: Seven-Time Kings of Concacaf
Cruz Azul won 5-nil over Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the Final to collect its seventh Concacaf Champions Cup title, previously winning the 1969, 1970, 1971, 1996, 1997, and 2013–14 editions. La Máquina also tied Club América as the tournament’s all-time leaders.
The road to the title for Cruz Azul began with dominant performances, starting with a 7-nil win over Real Hope FA in Round One, followed by a 4-1 win over the Seattle Sounders in the Round of 16. The Mexico City club knocked out crosstown rivals Club América with a 2-1 aggregate in the quarterfinals and advanced to the Final with a 2-1 victory on aggregate against Tigres UANL in the semifinals.
Ángel Sepúlveda: Hero and Top Scorer
Ángel Sepúlveda was one of Cruz Azul’s main men from start to finish this 2025 Champions Cup.
The Mexican forward concluded the competition with 11 goal contributions, nine goals and two assists, to claim the Best Player Award, presented by Scotiabank and the Top Goal Scorer Award, presented by Aramco.

His nine goals in 2025 also saw him take his Champions Cup career tally to 13 and tie Octavio Muciño (1971) for second most goals by a Cruz Azul member in a single edition.
Vicente Sánchez Makes Coaching History
Uruguayan manager Vicente Sánchez led Los Cementeros to a historic seventh crown, making history himself the first foreign-born manager to lead Cruz Azul to a Concacaf title.
