Toni Kroos set to sign new one year deal at Real Madrid | OneFootball

An update on the future of Real Madrid player Toni Kroos has been provided today, after weeks of conflicting reports regarding his contract situation at the club.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Kroos will stay and continue at Madrid, after agreeing on a new one year deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2025. Direct contacts between the German and Real have taken place and it is now seen as a formality, with an announcement on his renewal now imminent.

The midfielder has been rewarded for his fine performances for club and country this season. The 34-year-old came out of retirement to help Germany for the upcoming European Championship and wanted his future sorted before the tournament begins.

Kroos has won every possible domestic title during his time with Los Blancos and there were reports suggesting that he would retire if the club didn’t offer him a new deal. However, after the intervention of manager Carlo Ancelotti, who wanted to keep the playmaker at the club for at least one more season due to his experience and consistent performances, the club have presented the German with a new contract proposal.
